Check out this zine review from Brazil in which Parasol has an interview!!
This is the coolest thing ever. Thanks Fernando for asking us to participate. The questions were awesome and we really enjoyed talking together as a band. They also mention our friends Peeple Watchin’ and Ladyfest Phily! So amazing!
Hope we can get a copy of this beautiful 32 page zine for ourselves someday! -
The Outlet: Mental Health Community Center
We want to provide a variety of services including group and peer counseling, arts-based activities, a library of mental health literature for self-empowerment, and referrals to professional counseling. We hope to make mental health care more accessible for all. Ultimately, we would like to financially assist individuals seeking professional counseling who can’t afford it.

Let It Out! Mental Health Zine Issue #1
Here is a digital copy of the first issue of Let It Out!, published on May 1, 2013 in Tallahassee, Florida. 101 pages filled with articles, personal narratives, poems, song lyrics, comics, and art—all related to mental health. This zine is anti-copyright, so feel free to reproduce and share this zine with anyone and everyone. However, please do not try to take credit for the work or profit from it—we worked hard on this zine for you, but not to be exploited by you. Think about it.
Our goal is to provide readers with alternatives to traditional Western forms of medicine, and to remove the stigma associated with mental health illnesses. We utilize Person-First and gender neutral language and do not discriminate or place judgment based on gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, age, or disability of any kind. We encourage open-minded discourse and aim to provide a safe platform where anyone can express themselves freely, without any risk of repercussion.
If you would like a hard copy of Let It Out!, send an email to letitoutzine@gmail.com (please include your mailing address in this email) and you will receive an invoice in return. We are asking for $2-$5 donations to cover the cost of shipping—please indicate in the email how much you would like to donate. A copy of Let It Out! will be mailed to you within one week of placing your order.
Tiny quotes from me (Lily) in an essay in this zine that my sister was involved in helping put out! Download it, read it, copy it, pass it on!
